Kevin Langbaum | KBL Communications

Kevin’s high school guidance counselor demanded a conference with his parents when he wanted to put off Calculus for a year to fit Intro to Journalism in his schedule.
Kevin 1, Guidance Counselor 0 (and he hasn’t used Calculus since high school, anyway).

From those beginnings, Kevin launched successful careers in journalism and corporate communications. He then took the leap into the third phase of his career in 2022, setting up KBL Communications.

After graduating from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Kevin worked for a decade in print and online news. Stops included The Baltimore Sun and CBS Sports.

Then came a cross-country move and a shift to the corporate world. Kevin spent 14 years at Arizona Public Service, Arizona’s largest utility, managing teams and projects in advertising and marketing, external communications and PR, employee communications, customer communications and social media.

Kevin is based in Scottsdale, Ariz., where he lives with his wife, Jessica, and their two children. In his spare time, he enjoys watching or coaching his son’s baseball teams, drinking excessive amounts of Diet Pepsi, overseeing home renovation or decoration projects, conquering Orangetheory workouts, listening to ‘80s music and watching sports, especially cheering on his beloved Northwestern Wildcats.
